ATHENS, Ga. — The No.-17 ranked Georgia men’s golf team will conclude the fall portion of its schedule Friday through Sunday in the Ka‘anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational in Hawaii.
Field: Georgia, Air Force, Boise State, California Irvine, California State Northridge, Clemson, Colorado, Connecticut, Denver, East Tennessee State, Gonzaga, Hawaii, Kansas, Liberty, Louisiana, Mississippi, Mount Saint Mary’s, North Florida, Oklahoma, Wyoming.
Schedule And Format: The teams will play 18 holes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, opening with a daily shotgun start at 2 p.m.
Course: Ka‘anapali Golf Club, Royal Ka‘anapali Course, Lahaina, Maui, (par 71, 6,700 yards).
Georgia Lineup: Seniors Nicolas Cassidy and Ben van Wyk; junior Caleb Manuel; and sophomores Buck Brumlow and Maxwell Ford. Freshman Carter Loflin will compete as an individual.
Live Results: Golfstat will provide scoring, pairings, and tee times.
Last Time: The Bulldogs came in 15th in the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 4.
Coach Chris Haack Says: “It has been three weeks since our last event, and we have spent that time finding ways to improve across the board. That is an advantage the fall gives teams. We can take a look in the mirror and assess where we are and where we are going. We are excited about the opportunity to get back into competition. We have had pressure-packed qualifying rounds, so that should benefit us in Hawaii. It is a great venue featuring a strong field, so it will be a solid test of golf.”
News And Notes: Cassidy matched or posted career bests for finish (fifth), round (5-under 65) and tournament (11-under 199) in the SEC Match Play … Brumlow (6-under 66) and Cassidy (5-under 67) had career-best loops in the Frederica Cup … Manuel spent his first two seasons at UConn … van Wyk’s last name is pronounced fun-vake … Cassidy leads the Bulldogs with a scoring average of 69.2, followed by van Wyk at 69.4, Brumlow at 70.0, Manuel at 70.7, Loflin at 71.0, and Ford at 72.0.
