VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 34 Georgia College Golf program continued to fight the tough playing conditions Tuesday in the final round of the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate, solidifying the 14th slot on the leaderboard with a team score of 57-over par.
Low scores were a premium Tuesday at the par-72, 7363-yard Kinderlou Forest Golf Club with very few players scoring under-par. Thomas Hodges (Monroe) managed the lowest overall score for the Bobcats coming in at a 10-over par and moved up to a tie for 28th on the 93-player leaderboard after shooting an impressive final round 74. Just behind Hodges at 14-over par overall is Harrison Stewart (Roswell) who shot a final round 78 which put him in a tie for 49th.
In the middle of the pack for Georgia College was Conner Albright (Macon), who scored a five-over 77 Tuesday afternoon, putting him in a tie for 73rd at a total of 19-over.
Rounding out the scoring were seniors Harry Lambert (Suwanee) and Thomas Knight (Eastman), who finished their tournaments at an overall score of 22-over par. Lambert and Knight completed their contest in a tie for 81st.
The Bobcats finished 52 shots behind the tournament champion No. 1 University of West Florida which had an overall score of just five over par. No. 4 Barry University finished behind West Florida by 14 strokes at 19-over and No. 2 Lynn University ended just one stroke behind Barry for third place.
GC Golf is right back at it next week when they host the Bobcat Invitational at The Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee Monday, March 20.
