ATLANTA – With four Panthers earning President’s List honors and another three garnering academic recognition, Georgia State women’s golf once again recorded a successful semester in the classroom this spring.
As a team, the Panthers finished with a 3.52 GPA as seniors Petra Duran and Courtney Lewis, junior Emma Berlin, and sophomore Jenny Marston each earned President’s List honors for a GPA of 4.0 or higher.
Junior Kelly Strickland garnered Dean’s List honors for a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher, while senior Chloe Howard and sophomore Lauren Newhouse earned Athletic Director’s Honor Roll recognition for a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
“In a semester that continued to present plenty of challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was proud to see four members of our team earn President’s List recognition – the top academic award given out at Georgia State,” head coach Jessica Steward said. “All year long our team stood up to the challenges that they faced and never backed down in the classroom or on the golf course. We look forward to things returning much closer to normal by the time we return in August and having a great 2021-22 season.”
A total of 209 individuals earned academic honors for the spring semester, highlighted by 46 student-athletes on the President’s List, Georgia State’s highest academic distinction signifying a semester GPA of 4.0 or higher.
Eighty individuals earned Dean’s List status with a semester GPA of 3.5-3.99, and another 83 student-athletes made the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll with a 3.0 or higher.
Georgia State is expected to begin the 2021-22 season in September.
