Steven Fisk of Stockbridge and hometown golfer Katie Dalton took the overall titles at the Hawks Point Junior Classic in Vidalia, Georgia. The par-72 Hawks Point Golf Club provided a tough test for the field during the tournament, which was held April 21st-22nd. Small, undulating greens, along with windy conditions, made par a good score on any hole. This year’s event marked the first time the SJGT has visited Hawk’s Point.
Fisk carded impressive rounds of 70-69 to take the Male 14-15 division. He had 10 birdies and only 5 bogeys to claim his second consecutive SJGT win. Brennan Bogdanovich of Suwanee shot 69-73 to take second place.. Third place in the division went to Salil Ghamande (73-77) of Evans.
Dalton had played Hawks Point a few times before the tournament, and her course knowledge gave her the Female 15-19 division title with 79-78. Jessica Haigwood of Roswell finished second after rounds of 82 and 78. Avery George (79-84) of Cleveland, Tennessee won a scorecard playoff over Anna Buchanan (81-82) of Athens for third.
