Dahlonega, G.A. – Just two days shy of the Peach Belt Conference Championship, the Columbus State University women’s golf team played its final regular season event with a head-to-head matchup against North Georgia. The round was played at the Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, G.A.
North Georgia won the team portion of the match with a four-score total of 337, but it was Columbus State’s Courtney Lowery that posted the lowest individual number. CSU turned in a team score of 371.
Lowery was the only golfer of the nine that played on Wednesday, April 15th, 2015 to break 80 as the sophomore carded a seven-over par round of 79. The is the second time this season Lowery has been the top individual in an event after winning the Point Skyhawk Invitational in March.
Freshman Shelby Banta posted the second-best Lady Cougar score on the day at 85, with Ciera Bagley turning in a round of 88.
Courtney Jacquay and Brianna Henthorn played in the four and five spots, respectively, in their final tune-up before the postseason.
Columbus State will now head to Greenwood, S.C. for the PBC Championship. The three-round event will be played Friday through Sunday (April 17-19, 2015) at the Greenwood Country Club.
