St. Augustine, F.L. – Shaving eight strokes off its first round score, the Columbus State University women’s golf team closed out the two-day World Golf Invitational on Monday February 9th, 2015. The tournament was played at the Slammer and Squire Golf Course in St. Augustine, F.L.
Lynn battled from three shots back after round one to win the tournament with a total score of 584. Flagler (595), Barry (602), Florida Tech (604) and Saint Leo (605) rounded out the top five.
Columbus State finished the two rounds with a combined score of 744 in 17th place overall.
Ciera Bagley led the Lady Cougars in Monday’s final round. The senior shot a five-over par 77 in the final round to finish at 19-over for the tournament and 67th overall.
Sophomore Courtney Lowery ended as the top finisher for CSU after a round of 78 on Monday. Her two round total of 158 tied her for 48th at 14-over par.
Shelby Banta improved by five strokes from day one to day two as the freshman carded an 84 in the second round. Banta finished in 82nd place at 29-over.
Courtney Jacquay (88th) and Briana Henthorn (89th) made up the rest of the Lady Cougar squad.
The Lady Cougars will tee it up next at their only home tournament of the spring February 23-24. The two-day event will be played at the Country Club of Columbus.
