ATHENS, Ga. — Nicolas Cassidy and Caleb Manuel will be representing the Georgia men’s golf program this week in the 2022 U.S. Amateur Championship.
The U.S. Amateur will consist of 36 holes of stroke play – 18 each on Monday and Tuesday – after which the field will be reduced to the low 64 scorers. There then will be six rounds of match play starting Wednesday with the 36-hole final slated for Sunday.
Cassidy, a rising senior for the Bulldogs, will tee off at 7:10 a.m. on Monday and at 12:25 p.m. on Tuesday. Manuel, who will be joining Georgia after two seasons at Connecticut, has been assigned tee times of 1:39 p.m. Monday and 8:24 a.m. Tuesday.
Cassidy qualified for the U.S. Amateur with a third-place showing at The Standard Club in his hometown of Johns Creek. Manuel advanced by virtue of playing in the U.S. Open earlier this year at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.
The Ridgewood Country Club will be set up at 7,487 yards and will play to a par of 35-36–71. Arcola Country Club, which will serve as the stroke-play co-host course for the two rounds of stroke play, will play to a par of 35-35–70 over 7,256 yards.
