LAHAINA, Hawaii — The No.-20 ranked Georgia men’s golf team finished round two of the Ka‘anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational in 8th place on Saturday.
The Bulldogs scored a 1-over 285 and tied with Boise State as both teams carded a total of 563 on the Royal Ka’anapali Course. Oklahoma nabbed Clemson’s lead with a 6-under 278 followed by East Tennessee State at 1-under 283.
Sophomore Maxwell Ford paced the Bulldogs for the second day to finish tied for 5th. Up 23 spots on the leaderboard, Ford scored a 4-under 67 — two shy of leader Nick Gabrelcik of North Florida. Junior Caleb Manuel added an even-par 71 at 34th. Seniors Nicholas Cassidy and Ben van Wyk tied at 49th with a total 143. Cassidy had a 2-over score of 73 and van Wyk landed at with 4-over 75. In 66th, sophomore Buck Brumlow had a 3-over 74.
Playing as an individual, freshman Carter Loflin landed at 2-under 69, tied for 10th.
The Bulldogs will return to the course on Sunday at 2 p.m.
