NORTH PLAINS, Ore. — The No. 20-ranked Georgia men’s golf team finished eighth in the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational on Monday.
Playing Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club’s Witch Hollow par-71, 6,997-yard layout, the Bulldogs posted a 4-over 288 to wind up at 2-under 850 for the tournament. Oklahoma claimed the team title at 29-under 823, followed by Wake Forest at 24-under 828 and Clemson at 17-under 835.
Senior Spencer Ralston led the Bulldogs in the third round as he signed for an even-par 71. Freshman Connor Creasy and senior Calum Masters followed Ralston with a 1-over 72. Battling at the top was junior Davis Thompson, who added a 2-over 73. Sophomore Trent Phillips had the Bulldogs’ drop score of 3-over 74.
Thompson finished tied for sixth individually at 7-under 206 alongside Aman Gupta of Oklahoma State and Adrien Pendaries of Duke. Phillips placed tied for 10th at 5-under 208 followed by Ralston at 5-over 218, Creasy at 7-over 220 and Masters at 10-over 223.
The Bulldogs will continue the fall portion of their schedule Oct. 14-15 in the Crooked Stick Invitational in Indiana.
