AUGUSTA, Ga. — The 20th-ranked Georgia men’s golf team finished eighth on Sunday in the 39th annual 3M Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club.
The Bulldogs closed with a 4-under 284 for a tournament total of 8-under 856. Team honors went to Central Florida at 28-under 836.
Sophomore Tye Waller paced the Bulldogs on Sunday as he shot a career-best 4-under 68. Freshman Spencer Ralston added a 2-under 70, and freshmen Will Chandler and Trevor Phillips each signed for a 1-over 73. Senior Greyson Sigg had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 4-over 76.
Waller finished eighth individually at 6-under 210, five shots in back of Illinois’ Dylan Meyer. Ralston landed at even-par 216, followed by Sigg at 1-over 217, Phillips at 2-over 218 and Chandler at 3-over 219.
The Bulldogs will be idle until they open the postseason in the SEC Championship April 21-24 on St. Simons Island and an NCAA Regional (at a site to be determined) May 15-17. The top five teams from each regional will make up the field for the NCAA Championship May 26-31 in Sugar Grove, Ill.?
