GREENSBORO, Ga. — The Georgia men’s golf team battled through windy conditions with resolve to take home first place in the Linger Longer Invitational at The Landing at Reynolds Lake Oconee on Tuesday Mar. 18. The team shot a collective 30-under over the course of the three-day tournament with five Bulldogs in the top-ten.
FAST FACTS
- Sophomore Grayson Wood led the Bulldogs to their victory in Greensboro, shooting nine-under to end the tournament T-2. This top-five finish marks his second of the year and the fourth of his career.
- Senior George Langham ended play in the top-ten, T-6 after shooting six-under on the tournament.
- Senior Buck Brumlow followed, shooting five-under to join the top-ten, T-8.
- Freshman Matt Moloney and Sophomore Camden Smith ended play T-9, shooting four-under. This standing marks the first top-ten finish of Moloney’s career and the second of Smith’s.
- Junior Carter Loflin anchored for the Bulldogs on Tuesday, shooting six-under to push the Bulldogs back into first place. He ended play two-under T-16.
- Freshman James Earle closed out play for Georgia, shooting four-over par and ending the day tied for 43rd place.
- No. 37 Georgia ended the tournament in first place after shooting a collective 30-under. Georgia was followed by No. 18 Alabama who shot 28-under and No. 35 USF who shot 21-under. They were joined in the field by No. 17 South Carolina, Augusta, Charlotte, Elon, Franics Marion, Georgia State, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Louisiana Tech, Mercer, Ohio State, South Alabama, and Wofford.
