Senior Taylor Smith (Mansfield, Ga.) and junior Bryan Fox (Roswell, Ga.) each shot even 72s for the final day of action at the 2013 Bearcat Invitational, lifting Georgia College four slots to take eighth place Tuesday.
In the event hosted by Lander University, the Bobcats added a 292 to yesterday’s rounds of 312 and 307 for a total of 47 over at the frigid par-72, 6,800-yard Greenwood Country Club.
Fox finished 12th among 99 golfers at six over. The finish is the best for the Bobcat in his career, and also marks Fox’s second career top-20 finish.
Smith took 29th while classmate Patrick Garrett (Kennesaw, Ga.) took for 57th. Junior Pontus Andersson (Helsingborg, Sweden), in just the second start of his career, finished at 19-over in 71st place. Classmate Victor Monte (Chantilly, Va.) was plus-19 in 74th place.
The Bobcats also sent one individual golfer to the course, as sophomore Ryan Trocchio (Norcross, Ga.) shot rounds of 78, 73 and 74 for nine-over par in 24th place.
This tournament marks the final regular-season tune-up prior to the PBC Championships April 20-21 in Pine Mountain, Ga.
