Augusta, Ga. — The Augusta University men’s and women’s golf teams will be back on the course in the next few days. The men are competing in the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas, while the women are in Florida for the Moon Golf Invitational.
The Jaguar women will play Sunday through Tuesday, with 18 holes scheduled for each day. This is the eighth annual Moon Golf Invitational, hosted by the University of Louisville, with Suntree Country Club in Melbourne, Florida, serving as the host course.
Augusta will be put to the test as the field includes 10 of the top 20 teams in the nation, including No. 3 South Carolina, No. 5 Texas, and No. 9 Northwestern.
Sara Adams is coming off one of her best performances, finishing 43rd at the PDI Intercollegiate two weeks ago. She also recorded her best round of the year with a 70 in the final round. Marine Legentil also posted one of her best rounds of the year with a 69 in the second round.
MOON GOLF INVITATIONAL SCORING CAN BE FOUND HERE
The men will compete in the Border Olympics, hosted by the University of Houston, beginning Monday with a two-day, 54-hole event at Laredo Country Club. They will play 36 holes on Monday, followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
Among the teams competing are Michigan, New Mexico State, Rice, Illinois State, and Troy.
Stefan Jacobs is coming off another solid tournament, finishing 21st at the Battle of Briar’s Creek. Jacobs recorded his third sub-70 score of the year with a 69 in the final round. Bo Blanchard II matched Jacobs’ 69 in the final round, marking the lowest rounds of the tournament for Augusta.
