KENNESAW, Ga. – Claes Borregaard of the Kennesaw State men’s golf team earned Atlantic Sun Second Team All- Conference honors, the conference announced Monday.
“Claes had a remarkably steady year on the course,” head coach Bryant Odom said. “Him receiving Second Team All-Conference honors is a proud moment for him and our program.”
Borregaard had a team-best 71.21 scoring average this season. He led the team lead with 17 rounds at par or better. The junior was KSU’s top finisher in six events this season and ranks 199th in this week’s NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Ranking. His ranking is good for sixth in the ASUN this season. He opened the season Allstate Streamsong Invitational with rounds of 71-71-71 for a 6-under total of 213 on the par 73 course. He finished fourth at the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate at 10-under par 206 with rounds of 70-66-70. He tied for fifth at the ASUN Championship with rounds of 75-70-70 for a 1-under total of 215. His finish earned him a spot on the All-Tournament team.
Borregaard will now wait on the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship Selection Show on Wednesday, May 1 at 2 p.m. to see if he earns an individual spot in an NCAA Regional.
