ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia’s Jenny Bae has been tabbed the SEC Golfer of the Week for the second time this fall. Bae was honored Thursday after she finished fourth at the Stanford Intercollegiate last weekend.
A super senior from Suwanee, Ga., Bae shot 5-under en route to recording her third top-4 individual finish in four fall tournaments. She tied for 10th in the other event.
Bae’s performance at Stanford came against a field that included four top-10 and seven top-25 teams. She opened and closed the tourney at Stanford with rounds of 69 and 66, respectively. Those represented her seventh and eighth loops in the 60s during 12 rounds of fall competition. She recorded birdies on 15 of the 54 holes at Stanford, 27.8 percent of the holes she played.
Bae wrapped up the fall with a stroke average of 68.83, 1.50 strokes per round better than any SEC golfer entering this week. That mark also is more than 2.0 strokes per round better than the current Georgia record for season average of 71.07 by Jillian Hollis in 2017-18.
