AUGUSTA, Ga. — Usually when teams head to golf tournaments it’s all about the sport. But for the Augusta women, this weekend’s More Than Golf Invitational is just that, about more than golf. Presented by the Annika Foundation and Bank of America, the tournament will give the ladies a chance to meet and interact with successful women from a variety of industries as well as teeing it up.
The event will be held at Old Barnwell in Aiken, with Augusta Univeristy and Columbia University are serving as co-hosts. The tournament features 12 mid-major golf programs from around the country. With golf hall of famer Annika Sorenstam behind the foundation, the focus of the event is to not only showcase the golfers, but give them a chance to receive life and career development advice. It’s a fact not lost on the Jaguar team.
“We also get to meet a lot of company executives, have dinner with them, and spread our names around and find interests or companies that we’re interested in after golf, just setting ourselves up. Not only are we playing in a great tournament but also looking ahead for the future,” said redshirt sophomore Sara Adams.
