ORLANDO, Fla. – The Augusta Jaguars concluded play at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational and finished 27-over par in 15th place after round three on Tuesday at Isleworth Country Club.
The 17-team field wrapped 54 holes of play on the par-72 Isleworth course. With 11 teams nationally ranked top 50 and three in the top 10, the field saw a tight contest at the top of the leaderboard. No. 28 Illinois held onto first place through two rounds, but No. 21 California climbed the leaderboard three spots in the final day to win the event 6-under par.
Illinois and No. 10 Florida tied for second place (-5), while No. 9 Vanderbilt stayed fourth (-3), and No. 6 Auburn fifth (E). Iliinois’ Dylan Meyer finished 11-under par and notched the win in the 90-man field.
AU sophomore Gustav Andersson led the Jags for the second time this season when he finished 43rd (+5) in the tournament – shooting his second 74 (+2) of the contest. Freshman Alex Shead led Augusta through two rounds and ended up tied for 44th (+6), while senior Broc Everett produced his best round with an even-par 72 to take 48th.
Freshman Laken Hinton tied for 65th (+11) with his best round of 73 and freshman Olof Gunnarsson came in 87th (+22) to wrap up Augusta.
The Jaguars compete at the Savannah State Tiger Invitational Oct. 30-31 in Savannah, Ga., at Crosswinds Golf Club.
