MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Augusta University women’s golf team finished the Moon Golf Invitational in seventh place on Tuesday afternoon at Duran Golf Club.
Augusta was 6-under-par par and one shot off the leaders, Louisville and UCF, heading into the final round. UCF ran away with the team title on Tuesday and won the tournament at 13-under-par. Host Louisville took second (-6), Oklahoma and Campbell tied for third (-5). Maryland fought for fifth (-2), Old Dominion sixth (-1), and Augusta moved to seventh (E) to highlight the field of 16 teams
Jaguar junior Linda Lundqvist paced Augusta for the second straight event and tied for 20th overall (-1). Senior Maggie Ashmore finished tied for 23rd at even par. Ashmore turned in Augusta’s low round of the day with a 2-under-par 70.
Augusta sophomore Teresa Diez-Moliner and junior Charlotte Alran shared a tie for 30th (+2) and senior Cecilia Diez-Moliner took a tie for 68th (+11).
The Jaguars host the Valspar Augusta Invitational March 16-17 at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
