EATONTON, Ga. – The Augusta University men’s golf team finished the Linger Longer Invitational on Tuesday afternoon in a three-way tie for sixth place with Ohio State and UNCG at Great Waters at Reynolds Plantation.
No. 4 Baylor never relinquished the lead and won the event by 15 strokes at 33-under par. No. Virginia took second (-18), No. 20 Georgia third (-11), Troy fourth (-10), and Alabama fifth (-7) for the top finishing scores in the 15-team field.
The event was hosted by Kennesaw State and Mercer on the par-72, 7,073-yard course.
No. 39 nationally ranked, Greyson Sigg, won the event 16-under par to represent UGA.
Augusta shot their best round in the final day with a 277 (-11) to finish in a three-way tie for sixth place with Ohio State and UNCG at four-under par.
Junior Broc Everett led Augusta and earned seventh overall with a round-three 67 (-5) to finish seven below par for the event. Senior Emmanuel Kountakis posted a 70 (-2) for a tie for 19th (-3) and senior Viktor Edin slipped inside the top 25 – shooting his second 69 (-3) of the tournament to tie for 23rd (-1).
AU senior Jake Marriott ended tied for 64th and freshman Gustav Andersson notched 77th.
