COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The Augusta University men’s golf team competed in its final regular-season event at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate and took 15th place on Saturday afternoon.
Hosted by the Ohio State Buckeyes on the Scarlet Course, the RKI featured Augusta, Ball State, Dayton, Florida, Kent State, Maryland, Miami (OH), Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Toledo, Northern Illinois, Rutgers, and Xavier. The event was scheduled for 36 holes on Friday and the final 18 on Saturday, but inclement weather caused a reschedule and teams competed in two rounds.
Ohio State won its home tournament at 5-over-par and edged out Michigan State who took second at 9-over-par. Florida carded third (+13) and Penn State and Rutgers tied for fourth in the field of 15.
Augusta freshman Alex van Wyk paced the squad and tied for 37th overall to finish 9-over-par. van Wyk shot 78 and 73, while junior Gustav Andersson tied for 48th (+11) with a 79 and 74 in rounds one and two.
Jaguar freshman Viktor Lindgren turned in a 79 and 75 to take a T53, while senior Adam Walden finished tied for 62nd and junior McCullough Pickens 75th.
