ARDMORE, Okla. – Ranked No. 29 in the nation, the Augusta Jaguars took eighth place at 16-over par in The Maxwell in Ardmore, Okla., hosted by Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. The Maxwell was scheduled for 54 holes of play across two days, but was called after Saturday’s 36 holes due to weather conditions at Dornick Hills Golf & Country Club (April 16th, 2017).
Texas led the tournament at 13-under par at the conclusion of day one and won the event by five strokes on the par 70, 6,586-yard course to lead the 11-team field. Baylor took second eight-under par, New Mexico and Oklahoma State ended in a tie for third six below and Memphis took fifth three-under par.
Oklahoma finished sixth (+3), Houston seventh (+13), Augusta eighth (+16), East Carolina ninth (+20), Colorado 10th (+27), and Tulsa 11th (+31).
Augusta sophomore Broc Everett shot 72 (+2), 71 (+1) in his first two rounds and ended in a tie for 28th (+2) with six overall birdies to lead the Jaguars. Junior Jake Marriott came in next for the Jags in a tie for 37th – shooting 73 (+2) and 71 (+1) to finish three-over par.
Senior Robin Petersson dropped four strokes from round one with a round-two 71 (+1) to end in 49th six over par, while junior Emmanuel Kountakis took 52nd (+7) shooting 71 (+1) and 76 (+6).
Senior Maverick Antcliff also shaved four strokes in his second round with a 72 (+2) to finish tied for 57th and Viktor Edin, who competed as an individual, ended up tied for 72nd (+18).
