Recent Georgia Tech standout Anders Albertson of Woodstock has enjoyed a recent successful stretch on the SwingThought.com Tour, finishing first or second in four straight tournaments in Georgia, Florida and North Carolina.
Albertson began his run with a tie for second at Okefenokee CC in Waycross, shooting 23-under 265 including a 64 in the second round and a final round 63. He ended up two shots behind the winner to earn $8960.
In his next start, Albertson shot 68-70—138 to win by two in a 36-hole event at Echelon GC in the North Fulton suburbs to take home first place money of $5000.
Albertson placed second in a tournament in Stanley, N.C., finishing two shots behind the winner at 5-under 139. He collected a second win at the Black Bear GC in Eustis, Fla., posting scores of 69-65-68 for a 14-under 202 total to win by a shot and collect $5,000.
Chip Deason of Evans won a recent SwingThought.com event in Columbia, S.C., closing with a 66 and a 5-under 139 total to earn the winner’s check of $5,000 in a playoff. Former UGA golfer Adam Mitchell of Atlanta and recent Mercer golfer Trey Rule of Eatonton tied for fifth at 142.
Rule was second behind Albertson in the tournament at Echelon at 140, with Bryan Fox of Roswell tying for fifth at 143. Alpharetta’s Franco Castro tied for fourth in the North Carolina event at 143.
The SwingThought.com Tour is the product of a merger between the former Hooters and eGolf Tours with new ownership.
Albertson and Mitchell will be among a large group of Georgia golfers who will be competing in the finals of Web.com Tour qualifying for 2016 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Dec. 10-13.
