BRASELTON, G.A. —American College Development Services, an association that guides student-athletes through their junior careers and prepares them to make the transition to NCAA athletics, will partner with the American Junior Golf Association and support the ACDS Junior All-Star Series beginning in 2016.
“At ACDS, we provide student-athletes with the tools necessary to achieve their collegiate goals, from test preparation and English speaking proficiency to tournament scheduling and university researching,” said ACDS President Drew Scott, who is also an AJGA alumnus. “The AJGA is the gold standard for junior golfers around the world. We are so happy to play a role in the AJGA’s growth this season and a larger one for many, many years to come, and this longterm relationship will allow more players to realize their opportunities than ever before.”
First created in 1998 and specifically designed for boys and girls ages 12-15, the ACDS Junior All-Star Series presents opportunities for younger players to develop their skills and build Performance Based Entry status into AJGA Open tournaments. Golf course setup reflects this goal with yardages more appropriate for the age group.
“The AJGA is very excited to partner with ACDS, as the Junior All-Star Series has developed into a focal point of college golf coaches and sponsors looking to build early brand awareness,” said AJGA Chief Business Officer Jason Etzen.
Many prominent, professional golfers including PGA and LPGA Tour players Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth, Morgan Hoffmann, Alison Lee, Inbee Park and Brittany Lang got their start with the Junior All-Star Series. From the 2014 class of 96 Rolex Junior All-Americans, 75 percent of the award winners began their AJGA careers with the Junior All-Star Series.
“The AJGA and ACDS share the same passion and goals for junior golfers, both in the U.S. and around the globe, and we are extremely humbled and honored to partner with such a world-class organization for many years ahead,” said C.J. Gatto, AJGA alumnus and ACDS Managing Director & Director of Golf Development.
The 2016 ACDS Junior All-Star Series will feature 18 events and nearly 2,700 playing opportunities across the country. ACDS will support the ACDS Junior All-Star Series through 2020.
