ATLANTA, GA – June 25, 2016 – The Dogwood Invitational at Druid Hills Golf Club, an
internationally ranked top amateur golf event that began in 1941, will host its 50th annual
tournament Wednesday, June 29 – Saturday, July 2.
“One of the overarching goals of the event is to raise awareness and funds to benefit the lives of
as many junior golfers as possible,” Edward Toledano – tournament chairman.
The Dogwood is proud to support The Druid Hills Golf Club Foundation which assists qualified
junior golfers with college tuition through the Reynolds College Scholarship. In addition, the
Tournament raises proceeds to support Atlanta Junior Golf in an effort to expand its programs
throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area and continue teaching kids the game.
Two former Dogwood players will be the Honorary Starters for 2016. Charlie Harrison, 1966
Dogwood Champion, Georgia Golf Hall of Fame member, 1959 Georgia Amateur Champion, 9
time Atlanta City Amateur Champion and Drew Weaver, 2007 British Amateur Champion, 2009
Walker Cup Team Member, 2015 Champion of the PC Financial Open on PGA Canadian Tour,
and current Web.com Tour player will kick off the tournament as honorary starters at 7:15 am
Wednesday June 29.

This year’s four-day tournament will feature a field of 112 players, 12 from the Monday June 27
Qualifier, with a 36-hole cut to low 50 and ties. Tournament information is available by visiting

nonprofit, and proceeds from sponsorships are directed to the Atlanta Junior Golf Association
and The Druid Hills Golf Club Foundation.
