Five Georgia junior golfers qualified for the finals of the Drive, Chip and Putt competition, with the annual event held Sunday morning at Augusta National to kick off Masters week.
All five juniors qualified at regional sites just outside Georgia, with three of them winning their age group divisions at the Honors Club in Chattanooga and two others taking first place in their age groups in Jacksonville.
The three juniors advancing to the national finals from the Chattanooga regional were Sara Im of Duluth in girls age 12-13; Thaxton Cheyne of Canton in boys 8-9; and Patmon Malcom of Alpharetta in boys 10-11.
The two qualifiers from the regional in Jacksonville were Loralie Cowart of Winston in girls 14-15 and Sahish Reddy of Duluth in boys 7-9.
Im was the lone winner among the five Georgians, finishing with 26 points to win her division over two girls with 24 points each. She placed second in driving and first in putting. Malcom had the second best finish, taking fourth in his division.
Registration for the 2019 Drive, Chip and Putt competition is currently under way, with local qualifiers being held at various sites around the state.
