INDIANAPOLIS, In. — After winning Southland Conference Championship, it was announced Wednesday that Zoe Pinillos will next tee it up in the Norman Regional at Oklahoma University’s Jimmie Austin Golf Club in Norman, Ok. Pinillos is seeded sixth of the individuals that will compete in the NCAA regional.
The sophomore from Peru, Pinillos will compete May 5-7 trying to punch her ticket to the NCAA Championship. There are 396 participants nationwide in the regionals with each site hosting 12 teams and six individuals. The top five teams and the low individual, not on a qualifying team, will then advance to the national championship which will be held May 16-21 in California.
Pinillos punched her ticket to the regional by shooting 70-72-72 and won the SLC by two shots. On the year she has a scoring average of 76.0 with four top 20 finishes. They came at the SLC, Lady Bulldog Classic, The Southern and the Augusta Valspar Invitational. She has also registered 13 rounds with a sub-75 score.
