Roswell, GA —PGA assistant professional, Kyle Owen of Dunwoody Country Club fired an even under par 72 for a two-day total four-under par 140 to win the 7th Annual Chicopee Woods Players Championship presented by TaylorMade adidas Ashworth at Chicopee Woods Golf Course in Gainesville in a playoff over reigning Senior PGA Professional Player of the Year Sonny Skinner of Sylvester.
Owen started the day with a one stroke lead and played steady golf while on his way to the title. He went out in one-under par 35 and his inward nine he carded a one-over par 37 to tie Skinner. Owen won on the first playoff hole with a routine par after Skinner’s third shot found the water hazard.
Low amateur honors went to Brian Kim of Hamilton Mill CC who finished at five-over par 149 to finish alone in fifteenth place.
Defending Champion, Clark Spratlin PGA head professional at Currahee Club in Toccoa fired a tournament total one-over par 145 and ended up in a tie for 11th place.
